Arenal Volcano National Park Hiking & Hot Springs

The Arenal Volcano tour starts with a short drive to the western side of the Arenal Volcano, which is the one that has been mostly affected by the initial activity since 1968. Once there, you will be immersed on a very informative hike on the Park trail´s. We can choose one of the trails depending on the client´s preference. We have Las Coladas trail which traverses the rainforest and goes over a large lava flow from year 1992, where we can observe all the impact of the past eruptions, or Los Tucanes trail which goes mostly thru the recovered forest of the past activity and where we can see more wildlife.

It is possible to observe a great variety of plants, wildlife and magnificent lava rock formations. Once on the top of the petrified lava flow field you will have a beautiful view of the Arenal Lake. The hike ends up at a view point, where if the weather allows you will see the volcano very close and feel like it is possible to reach with your hands. You will be able to feel some rocks rolling down, some seismic activity and some smoke from the main crater.
